GM 2000 - German Equatorial Mount With Integrated GoTo Control - Made In Europe.

The GM2000 leaves nothing to be desired. All mechanical and electronical parts are extremely sophisticated for optimum performance.

The GM2000 doubles as a medium size Observatory mount and as a large but still portable mount for mobile use. Tracking precision and comfort of use are nearly unmatched.

The entire electronics suite is integrated into the tripod / pillar adaptor

Large and good quality ports. Unlike some other so-called high-end mounts no cheap parts are used here.

The Mount - In Short:

The GM2000 is a complete equatorial GoTo mount with tripod and controller.

Maximum load capacity is approx. 50kgs telescope weight. (conservative estimate)

Maximum slewing speed is an enormous 10° per second, other speeds can be set as well. Positioning precision is approx. +/- 3 minutes of arc.

Periodic error is specified as +/- 3" (typical value)

The mount can be used at latitudes between 22° and 70°.

GM 4000
A very large observatory mount for telescopes up to approx. 100kgs.

Size comparison - here you can see how big this mount really is. Despite its size the GM4000 has a very elegant appeal.

GM 4000 - Observatory Mount with GoTo Control.

The GM 4000 is a high end mount for observatories - it is probably the dream for a really "final" private observatory.

Load capacity is rated approx. 100kgs telescope weight for astro-imaging. Tracking and positioning accuracy is exceptional.

When we saw this mount we decided that it is of really exceptional quality and potential. For this reason we have selected this mount as the heart of our new TS observatory.

Special Feature:

The GM 4000 has several clever design features that are not visible at a first glance. One of the most convincing practical features is its ability to cross the meridian and keep running for a long time before you need to switch position! Every astro-photographer knows how important that can be.

Cable Location:

You can choose whether you wish to connect the motors directly or whether the cables should run through the DEC shaft to avoid a "cable labyrinth".

The hand controller offers all functions of the mount in a compact package (no separate computer needed).
The display will show all relevant data.

Control Software QCI:

The QCI control software allows to control the mount through a normal computer.

The mount uses the LX200 protocol and the Ascom interface. Even remote control of the mount is possible.

The "Perseus" control software (English) is included.

The Joystick is not included!

Specifications / Technical Datasheet:

Counterweight Shaft: Diameter 60mm - stainless steel
Tracking Precision: +/- 3" typical - without PEC!
PEC - Periodic Error Correction: PEC further enhances tracking precision.
Positioning Accuracy: +/- 2 minutes of arc typical
Slewing Speeds: up to 5° per second

Large and good quality ports. Unlike some other so-called high-end mounts no cheap parts are used here. This panel is integrated into the rear of the DEC axis.

High quality servo motors are used. These are free of motor gear imprecision.

Azimuth fine adjustment ( +/- 10° )
Altitude fine adjustment 23° - 68°

Further Specifications:

Safety Stop After Passing The Meridian
... prevents the telescope from colliding with the pillar. Individually adjustable.

Autoguider Port ... SBIG and Starlight Xpress compatible

Periodic Error Correction (PEC) ... reduces the remaining periodic error of the mount drastically

Integrated Encoders ... Even after "parking" the mount (Shut Down) the mount will safe its position. You will not have to reenter the alignment data. This is particularly interesting for daytime observing when hardly any alignment objects can be found. The encoders have an angular resolution of 0.1 seconds of arc.

Remote Control ... the controller can be up to 15m away from the mount (RS232 port). Using a special fiberglass cable you can boost that distance up to 80m.
