| XF Eyepieces 8.5 and 12mm Recommended for Binocular Viewing |
High Contrast Zoom Eyepiece 6.5-19.5mm |
Pentax XW - Wide Angle Eyepieces
Eyepieces with a very high light transmission and excellent observing comfort.

The Pentax XW eyepieces are suited for practically all possible observations - be it extended deep sky objects with an excellent image sharpness over the entire field of view or planets for which sharpness on the optical centerline is most important - the Pentax XW eyepieces will excel in all these situations. The comfortable eye relief and ergonomic design offer relaxed observing conditions for long periods without tiring the user. You can observe both extended objects and small, high power objects. The excellent contrast and light transmission (approx. 98%) make light contrasts and small details discernible. The eyepieces are weatherproof according to JIS class 4. This signifies a particularly robust coating and eyepiece body. |

Refractor Telescopes
Unlike most Apochromatic Refractors the Pentax refractors were designed to offer not only an outstanding image quality on the optical centerline, but also over the entire field of view. Even the smallest of the refractors, the Pentax 75 SDHF, is fully suited for the 6x4cm film format at highest quality. Of course all other Pentax refractors are also fully suited for this format.

Pentax 75 SDHF
An excellent travel scope and rich field photographical instrument. 75/500mm |
Pentax 105 SDP
A powerful all purpose refractor with excellent visual and photographical performance. 105/672mm |
Pentax 125 SDP
An ultimate visual photographical instrument. 125/800mm |
Pentax 100 SDUF-II
No-compromise rich field visual and photographical telescope 100/400mm |
Pentax 150 SDP and Pentax 150 SD
| The Pentax 75 SDHF is an apochromatic refractor with a fully corrected, flat field for photography. Its three lens design offers pinpoint stars to the edge of a very large field (6x4cm film format). At the same time sharpness on the centerline is also excellent. The third lens is a field flattener. You can therefore save the money on a separate field flattening lens that you have to buy for imaging with most other apochromatic refractors. The aperture is 75mm, the focal length is 500mm. The telescope is a very compact all-purpose instruments for amateur astronomers and a very powerful telelens for photographers. Fields of Use: Nature and Wildlife Use: Even at the highest magnifications contrast and image brightness are exceptional. You will see tiny and otherwise difficult to detect details in the feathers of birds. The excellent image sharpness makes the Pentax 75 SDHF an excellent choice if you are looking for a spotting scope. Contrary to most spotting scopes the ability to take photos isn't just an afterthought in the Pentax 75 SDHF. Astronomical Use: The Pentax 75 SDHF is an excellent all purpose telescope. It is perfectly suited for rich field observations as well as high power planetary use. Apochromatic refractors are famous for their excellent image sharpness and contrast. You will be surprised by how much you can see at "only" 75mm aperture. Unlike most apochromatic refractors the Pentax 75 SDHF was also designed specifically for photography. A field flattening lens is integrated into the telescope design and offers pinpoint stars to the edge of the 6x4cm film format. Photography: One of the main advantages of the Pentax 75 SDHF is its uncompromised photographical performance. The telescope offers a flat photographical field that fully illuminates the 6x4cm film format. Even towards the edges you will still have pinpoint stars. All this turns the Pentax 75 SDHF into a powerful telelens with a focal length of 500mm and a focal ratio of f/6.7 with a perfectly corrected field. We warmly recommend this telescope for demanding amateur astro-photographers as well as nature photographers. In our opinion no other telescope with a similar photographical performance in this price range. Many owners have taken impressive images of the milky-way and other extended objects. We will try to publish some of these on our website. If you would like to have one of your images published here please contact us! |

Scope of Delivery: The scope of delivery consists of the optical tube with an aperture of 75mm and a focal length of 500mm. The focuser is a very good shifting free rack and pinion focuser with a clear diameter of 60mm. The dewcap is retractable for smaller storage dimensions. The tube ring is available separately and is not included in the normal scope of delivery. The excellent rack and pinion focuser is optimized for photography. Adaptors are included for straight through observing with 1.25" eyepieces. If you want to use a star diagonal you will need a special adaptation that is available optionally: 1.25" and 2" Adaptors from TS We offer special 2" and 1.25" adaptors with a short optical length for the Pentax 75 SDHF. With the original adaptors you cannot reach focus with a star diagonal. The focal plane is optimized for photography. It is sufficient for the use of 1.25" accessories with a 1.25" star diagonal. 2" accessories can be adapted based on the Baader T2 diagonal. The clear diameter is then approx. 38mm. Further details on this adaptation on request. |

Pentax 105 SDP

| Like most Pentax refractors the Pentax 105 SDP was designed both for visual and photographical use. This true apochromatic refractor excels in both fields. Optical Performance On the optical axis the Strehl ratio lies between 96 and 97%. This is far better than diffraction limited (80% Strehl). What sets the Pentax 105 SDP apart from most other refractors is its excellent image quality over the entire field. This allows demanding astro-imaging with high resolution over a large (6x7cm) film format. On axis you can observe and photograph the moon and the planets with extraordinary detail and contrast. The colour correction is excellent - even at very high magnifications nearly no false colour can be seen. |
The Optical Layout The excellent optical performance of the Pentax 105 SDP is due to its special four lens design. A doublet objective lens offers an excellent on-axis image quality. The integrated two-lens corrector offers a large, flat field both for visual and in particular for photographical purposes. No expensive separate field flattener is needed. The front lens of the doublet objective is made of SD glass, the third lens in the layout is made of ED glass. The selection of the right glasses is a key factor for achieving excellent optical properties of the telescope. Of course all optical surfaces feature the excellent Pentax SMC multi-layer coating. |
| Photographical Use The Pentax 105 SDP is excellently suited for demanding astro-imaging. Whether you need a particularly high resolution for CCD imaging or a fully corrected field over the large 6x7cm format, the Pentax 105 SDP offers excellent results in all these fields. Specifications |
| Focuser of the Pentax 105 SDP The Pentax 105 SDP has an excellent focuser with a free diameter of 94mm. This allows full illumination of the 6x7cm film format. Of course the focuser is free of image shift. Focus travel is 62mm. |

Pentax 100 SDUF
| The Pentax 100 SDUF-II is a no-compromise telelens for astro-imaging. With its integrated corrector / field flattener it offers an excellent image sharpness over the entire field (airy disks < 20um even at the edge). Colour correction is very good considering its extreme focal ratio of f/4.0, although critical users will of course detect some secondary spectrum. However, we know no other telescope that packs a similar photographical performance in such a small packet if you need a large corrected field. Optical Performance Image quality is very good over the entire, huge corrected photographical field. The real Strehl ratio is still above 90% which is astonishing for an instrument of this extreme focal ratio. As a result the 100 SDUF-II is not only an ultimate telelens for photography, but also a wonderful, ultra-compact travel scope. |
