Observing with the Luna
With our LUNA refractor telescope you will see countless craters and ridges on our moon. Try pointing the telescope at the “terminator“ - the dividing line between darkness and light on the moon. There the many beautiful craters appear almost three-dimensionally, you will feel as if you actually were there!

Not only the moon is a wonderful object in this telescope. The planets of our solar system reveal many small details: The rings of Saturn, the atmospheric bands of Jupiter, the crescent shape of Venus. All this can be seen in our LUNA refractors.

Showpiece deep sky objects like the famous Orion nebula or the Andromeda nebula can be observed with this telescope. In addition you will see a multitude of double stars, star clusters, planetary nebulae etc.

Photography
The Luna's good 1.25" focuser and the motor drive (included in Luna 2, optional for Luna 1) are the basis for astronomical photography. Nearly everything you need is already included in the basic set! You will only need a proper adaptation, then you can use your existing digital or classical camera for astro-photography. Just let us know which camera you wish to use and we will make an offer for the proper adaptation.

Automatic motor drive

The motor compensates for the earth's movement around its own axis. An object will always remain centered in your eyepiece. This will make observing much more comfortable and is the basis for astronomical photography.

The motor is included in the Luna 2. If you buy the Luna 1 the motor is available for a later upgrade.

Starpointer LED Red Dot Finder

Not just a cheap finderscope with plastic lenses - the starpointer projects a small red dot onto the sky at the precise location where your telescope is pointed. A red dot finder is incredibly simple to use, a big plus especially for beginners!

The Mount and the Tripod

The mount is the basis of any telescope. A cheap mount will only serve to cause frustration. The EQ-1 offers enough stability to carry the telescope with ease and offers smooth slow-motion controls in both axes.

The adjustable height aluminium tripod is very light and easy to carry. At the same time it offers more than enough stability for the mount and the telescope.

Jupiter 1 - Refractor 70mm Aperture / 900mm Focal Length
A very nice entry level telescope - high contrast and image quality - good mechanical stability.

The Refractor Jupiter 1 is an ideal entry into the world of amateur astronomy.

It offers everything that an entry level telescope should have: A sufficiently large lens, very sharp image quality, colour correction almost as good as in an ED objective of similar size (which would cost several times as much, though), high portability, a good price.

Above all this telescope is very easy to use.

Advantages of this Telescope:

Image Quality Particularly sharp images - not only for lunar and planetary observations sharpness and contrast are very impressive - you will also enjoy the excellent image quality on star clusters, ... Even at high magnifications stars are depicted as small pinpoints.

We designed the TS RFT 805 to be one of the most versatile compact telescopes at a very affordable price. Both optical and mechanical quality are very good, making the telescope an excellent choice for demanding birdwatchers and amateur astronomers alike.

Nature Observing - A Compact All Purpose Spotting Scope
The RFT 805 features a high quality achromatic objective with an aperture of 80mm and a focal length of 500mm. The image is bright and contrasty. You can choose magnifications between 10x and 150x.

The excellent and ultra-smooth focuser accepts both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces. With 2" eyepieces you can get a true field of view of over 5°!
At the same time you can reach high magnifications suitable for studying small details in distant objects. The feathers of a distant bird, people climbing in the mountains, ...

Astronomical Observing - An All Purpose Rich Field Telescope
The RFT 805 is an excellent Rich Field Telescope. Fields of view of over 5° let you wander through the milky-way and observe extended structures. Even the enormous Andromeda nebula will easily fit into the field of view in all its beauty!

Due to its excellent achromatic objective you can reach high magnifications up to about 150x. For magnifications beyond 120x we recommend the use of a light yellow colour filter or the Baader Fringe Killer filter. These filters reduce the residual false colour and thus enhance contrast and image sharpness for successful lunar and planetary observing.

Photography - A Powerful Telephoto Lens
Thanks to the excellent 2" Crayford focuser the RFT is ideally suited for photographical use. It offers sharp and contrasty images.

The RFT 805 is a powerful tele lens with a focal length of 500mm and a focal ratio of f/6.25. The 35mm film format is fully illuminated. The RFT excels for nature photography and surpasses some expensive telelenses when it comes to light gathering power.

Astronomical imaging is another strong point of this telescope. With the optional 0.8x reducer / field flattening lens you get short exposure times, very large fields of view and pinpoint stars towards the edge of the film / chip format.

TS RFT 1007 - Rich Field / Binocular / Photographical Refractor
Tube can be shortened for use of binocular viewers!

The RFT 1007 is an extremely portable all purpose telescope. If you primarily want to observe with the RFT and enjoy ultimate ease of use we recommend the combination with the GIRO II (German) (see image)

The TS RFT 1007 clearly sets itself apart from the many Chinese refractors, both in terms of quality, design and included accessories. The mechanical quality of the tube is particularly high. The tube is assembled in Germany. We find the versatility of this instrument particularly stunning!

For many amateurs this telescope is certainly more interesting than a simple 100mm ED with its limited possibilities.

Solar System
The RFT 1007 uses a very high quality Fraunhofer objective. False colour is very small - some even offer this as "Semi APO" objective. Fact of the matter is that this lens shows how good a Fraunhofer achromat can be.

Up to approx. 130x you will get a very good image quality and little false colour on the moon and the planets. Image sharpness remains even in high magnifications up to approx. 200x. In order to minimize false colour we recommend the use of the Baader Semi APO Filter.

Deep Sky
100mm aperture, coupled with a sharp image quality, offer a surprising performance for observing nebulae and galaxies. Pinpoint stars throughout the visible field and the solid, smooth 2" Crayford focuser offer a fully illuminated true field of view of almost 4° - eight times the diameter of the full moon! Can you imagine a better comet catcher?

Easy Use of Binocular Viewers - Without Glass Path Corrector!
The rear part of the tube consists of a full diameter extension tube that can be screwed off. You get 120mm additional back focus! This allows you to use all standard binocular viewers without the need of Glass Path Correctors.

The deluxe tube rings of the RFT 1007 are made of aluminium. A GP / EQ compatible dovetail plate with camera tripod thread is included.

Astro Imaging With Focal Reducers - No Problem at all!
Astro imaging with CCD cameras is becoming ever more popular. The only disadvantage is that a typical CCD chip is too small to catch extended objects. With a strong focal reducer on the other hand you often don't get into focus with most telescopes, there is no sufficient back focus.

With the RFT 1007 this is no problem - just remove the rear part of the tube for another 120mm of back focus. You can use strong focal reducers without a problem.

Compact Dimensions - Ideal for Airline Travelling
With a shortest tube length of 45cm the RFT 1007 fits in any carry on luggage. The telescope can be split into three separate parts:

Objective lens and front tube part	45cm length

Focuser	13cm length


Split Tube The tube can be shortened easily and without any tools. First you screw off the focuser with its large knurled nut. Then you unscrew the rear part of the tube. After that you only need to screw on the focuser again. You have turned the RFT 1007 into a telescope with an additional 120mm back focus for easy adaptation of extreme accessories such as binocular viewers. The extension tube has the same diameter as the main tube. That way you can pull the tube rings back over the extension tubes for balancing heavy accessories.

Easy Use of Binocular Viewers - Without Glass Path Corrector!

The rear part of the tube can be unscrewed for an additional 120mm of back focus. This allows you to use all standard binocular viewers without glass path corrector.

You will get the full field of view for deep sky observing - only limited by the binocular viewer itself. The unwanted focal extension caused by glass path correctors is eliminated.

On the moon and the planets as well as for nature observing you will notice a gain in image quality and contrast by eliminating this unneccessary optical component.

Astronomical Imaging: With this telescope you can already do astronomical photography within certain limits. Photographies of the moon and the planets (especially using the Philips ToUCam pro) will show as many details as you can see directly - which is a lot. A standardised adaptor for cameras is already included. Just remove the standard 1.25" eyepiece holder and attach the tube with a T2 outside thread. This turns the TS refractor into a powerful telephoto lens with a focal length of 900mm at f/10. Thus equipped you will be able to get encouraging results both of terrestrial objects and of celestial objects. For astro-imaging you need to equip the Astro-3 mount with the optional motor drive. Adaptors for eyepiece projection (used for higher magnification imaging) are also available.
